Altrincham, UK – 01 May 2013

Maxa Technologies (Maxatec) is pleased to announce the release of the new Xplore DT4000 POS PDA for Android™ and the Catchwell CW31 rugged mobile computer.

With the explosive growth in device adoption over recent years, Android™ has become one of the most popular operating systems for mobile devices in the world. However, as the Android™ operating system and its devices mainly target the consumer market, it has held back enterprise adoption by system integrators. The Xplore DT4000 has been designed with enterprise in mind and delivers unique and advanced control features giving enterprise management complete peace of mind. The device boasts powerful performance in terms of speed and operating time, as well as enhanced WiFi stability, and easy field deployment and remote management features.

The CW31 IP65 rated mobile computer from Catchwell has powerful processing capabilities, a large memory capacity as well as advanced and high speed wireless technology. Suitable for a range of applications such as field service, logistics and facility management, the CW31 also features a number of data collection options including a Micro SD expansion slot, 1D/2D barcode scanning, 3.0MP auto focus camer, and HF/UHF RFID.

Steve Berry, Director commented: ‘We are delighted to add the DT4000 and CW31 to our range of mobile devices. Our mobile computing portfolio has grown significantly over the past 12 months and our supply partners continue to demonstrate their ability to differentiate themselves from some of the leading brands. Whilst we do not sell some of the mainstream brands, our focus is always to provide quality, high performance and reliability at a competitive price to our customers. Our growth achievement in the past 18 months is testimony that we are getting it right.’

Altrincham, UK – 17 April 2013

Maxa Technologies (Maxatec) is pleased to announce the release of a new spill guard protector from CognitiveTPG. This new accessory is designed to add a new level of protection from environmental hazards.

The spill guard is easy to install and offers extra defence against everyday spills and splashes that are particularly inherent in the hospitality food service industry.

The CognitiveTPG POS printers are designed with built-in internal and external dams and gutters to prevent damage to the print mechanism. The new spill guard accessory complements these features to provide added protection and ensure continuous printing even in the most challenging environment. The spill guard’s low profile means the printer maintains its same compact height, while the translucent cover allows for visual confirmation of the printed receipt and printer status.

The spill guard has gone through rigorous testing, and according to CognitiveTPG Product Manager, Roman Dziaba, it was exposed to environments that not even the busiest kitchen would endure. Independent testing confirmed it meets IPX2 water ingress standards.

Angela Mansfield-Swanson, Marketing Director for CognitiveTPG, told Maxatec: ”Restaurant and fast food environments suffer more damage to their printers than most, typically as the result of accidental spills. Accident or not, we don’t want our customers’ operations compromised or employees dismissed if such occurrences can be mitigated through better design. The spill guard is the most economical and effective solution for uninterrupted receipt printing and we back that statement with a 2 year warranty against spill damage on both the A798 and A799.”

A video introduction to the spill guard and a demonstration of the simple installation process can be found on the Maxatec YouTube Channel.
