Husky joins Maxatec rugged mobile portfolio

Maxatec has announced a new agreement with Husky Computers, a brand with a great history for providing leading technology and rugged mobile computers for the harshest of environments. The addition of Husky to Maxatec’s expansive range of rugged mobile enterprise products reaffirms the company’s leading position as one of the foremost distributors in the UK.

As with the entire portfolio, the Husky brand extends choice and value for customers looking for products that offer great value for tough working conditions.

Tom Abbott, Maxatec’s Director Mobile Enterprise rates the Husky brand highly. “We are pleased to offer Husky’s newly released products as they offer unique and innovative technology designs that appeal to a wide range of end user mobile customers,” says Abbott. “Husky is more than just another manufacturer and Maxatec is very pleased to be involved in their return to the rugged computer marketplace. Maxatec will initially offer the Husky4 Pro and Husky 7 Android OS product range. The ergonomic and lightweight IP67-rated Husky4 Pro is an innovative smart phone concept that will fulfill the most demanding applications. Fully waterproof and equipped with a Gorilla Glass display, the device frees workers from worrying about carrying auto ID equipment and separate mobile phones. It features an extended life Li-ion battery (2800mAh), 8MP auto-focusing rear camera with LED flash, and a dual SIM feature to provide mobile telecoms flexibility. For added peace of mind, Husky products come with a unique three-year swap-out warranty.

The Husky7 is a rugged – IP67, MIL-STD810F – and lightweight 7-inch tablet PC featuring a fracture-resistant TFT IPS designed for use in all light conditions. The Husky 7 is designed for easy integration with enterprise applications, offers a range of communications options, and its dual-core, energy-efficient 1.6GHz, ARM Cortex-A9 processor provides all the power that is needed for multitasking and without draining the 5000mAh Li-PO battery, which should give more than eight hours of useful working life each charge. There is a 2MP front facing camera and a 5MP rear camera for image capture and multiple communication options available.
